I think the only thing worse then pitching a tent while being swarmed by mosquitoes is taking one down in the same conditions. Hopefully my future campsites will be less infested.
So far, the route I have taken around the great lakes has primarily been on highways, although they have typically been one lane due to the geography. Today I took more back roads, as those were the ones that took me closer to the Lake Ontario. One of these roads took me through the Prince Edward Bay area on the northwest side of the lake. It wound through wineries and farms, and, due to the shape of the numerous peninsulas in the area, required a ferry to continue on towards Kingston.
I also met several friendly motorcyclists out for a Sunday drive that were more than willing to provide directions or suggestions for interesting routes, especially after seeing my Illinois license plate.
Due to the mosquito issues at the previous campground, I opted for a cabin. To my surprise, it came with a TV. I was further surprised when I found out that they were broadcasting the Blackhawks game. Unfortunately the outcome wasn’t favorable.
